Viking Store stocks Norse-inspired jewellery and homeware: rings, bracelets, pendants, brooches, drinking horns and wall art. Around 100 pieces, all held in stock and dispatched from Monday to Friday. We ship within the United Kingdom.
What we stock, and what we don’t
Everything here is inspired by Norse and Celtic design — knotwork, Yggdrasil, Mjölnir, runic lettering, the Vegvísir. These are contemporary pieces made to a historic aesthetic, not archaeological reproductions and not antiques. Where a motif has a documented origin we say so in the product description; where a design is modern, we say that too.
Choosing a piece
Rings
Most of our rings are 316L stainless steel, which does not tarnish and is a sensible choice for daily wear. Band widths run from 4 mm to 12 mm — a wide band sits differently and usually needs a half size up. Each listing gives the available UK sizes; if you are between sizes, go up rather than down, as fingers swell slightly in warm weather.
Pendants and necklaces
Chain lengths are given in centimetres. As a rough guide, 45 cm sits at the collarbone, 55 cm just below it, and 60 cm on the sternum. Heavier pendants such as a solid Mjölnir look better on a thicker box or curb chain than on a fine cable chain.
Drinking horns
Ours are genuine ox horn, food-safe lacquered on the inside. Capacity varies between pieces because no two horns are identical — the listing states the minimum guaranteed volume. Colour and grain will also differ from the photograph, which is normal for a natural material.
Looking after it
Stainless steel can be washed with warm soapy water and dried. Sterling silver will tarnish in air; store it in a closed bag and polish it with a proper silver cloth rather than an abrasive. Ox horn should never go in a dishwasher or be left to soak — rinse it, dry it immediately, and oil it occasionally with a little food-grade mineral oil. Leather cord should be kept away from prolonged water.
